Revised growth projections to 2020 and beyond clearly point to the need for additional capacity at DXB, as well as the rapid expansion of Dubai’s second airport, DWC. Accordingly, Dubai Airports, with the agreement and support of Dubai’s aviation sector board, has redesigned its long term strategy to meet anticipated demand while elevating service levels and passenger experience.
Managing capacity, accommodating growth
For the next 10 years, as Dubai’s aviation hub, DXB needs to meet rising customer expectations and growing demand for capacity, which is expected to rise to 118 million passengers by 2023. Dubai Airports believes that delivering a consistent and differentiated customer experience while boosting capacity is critical to the success of the sector, and ultimately Dubai.
